Comments[edit]

Stentor are one of the largest protozoa found in water, and is therefore one of the easiest for the microscopist to study.

In the modern classification of organisms, the protozoa belong to the kingdom Protista along with the algae and lower fungi.

Stentor are usually present in most freshwater ponds

This article is not about Microbiology[edit]

I restored the greek mithology related content of this article. The Microbiology content that was previously added should be integrated in the Stentor genus article. Use history to access the previous content. The same applies to the Stentor (genus) content in this talk page.

Regards.

Citation[edit]

This cites a translation of the Iliad for his mention. However, it doesn't include the edition, so the citation is essentially meaningless, as line numbers vary.

Alternatively, it may be appropriate to create a new page at Stentor (alga). Anybot (contact operator) 23:52, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Stentor is said to have died after losing a shouting contest with Hermes"[edit]

Is this the proof of this claim?

Scholia: "785.
