Teacher-Student sex cases are not necessary Statutory rape

I noticed that the female-on-male section mentions studies about Teacher-Student relationships. I don't think these should be used as references because these relationships are illegal regardless of age in most states. So a good percentage of those cases are probably not Statutory rape. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.82.152.76 (talk) 13:13, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Presumption of coercion

It is not correct that "Statutory rape laws presume coercion, because a minor or mentally handicapped adult is legally incapable of giving consent to the act". That is not correct. Lack of legal capacity means lack of [legal] consent. Sexual intercourse without consent is rape. Coercion does not come into the equation.Royalcourtier (talk) 06:20, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

American slang

Statutory rape is essentially just an American slang term. It has no legal status, and isn't even an issue in less repressive countries. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.197.15.138 (talk) 03:53, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Is not being allowed to have sex with minors and the mentally challenged repressive? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.142.194 (talk) 16:18, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

It pretty legal to have sex with minors of certain age. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.248.96.64 (talk) 03:36, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

The comment that 'statutory rape' is slang, and American slang at that, needs a response.Royalcourtier (talk) 06:18, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Functional Age

If it is possible for someone to have a functional age lower than their biological age, surely it is possible for someone to have a *higher* functional age; how do laws handle this inevitability?

Unlawful Carnal Knowledge should not redirect here

Statutory rape is a form of Unlawful Carnal Knowledge but what is UCK or not depends on the country you live in. I don't think the redirect is appropriate because there are many types of UCK besides statutory rape. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xanikk999 (talkcontribs) 19:48, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Change in Definition to Only Include Minors and the Mentally Challenged

When did the definition of statutory rape change to exclude instances where someone is mentally or emotionally abused and thus coerced or forced non-violently into sex? What legal classification is coercive rape now held under? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.209.67.97 (talk) 20:00, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Huh? What sources state that? Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 05:21, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
