WP:VG assessment[edit]

I'm rating this article as start class, high importance. The article falls solidly into the start-class criteria, I'd suggest looking at a number of our good and featured articles for examples of how to approach the issues.

  • There are no references for the article, this needs to be addressed for all aspects of the article: release dates, reception, gameplay, etc.
  • Write a reception section. This section is of upmost importance to a video game article as it is the best place to establish the notability of the article. Find reviews and coverage in reliable third party sources - namely the industry's journalism - and build the section up. Be sure to remain neutral, this section should contain both praise and criticism.
  • The story section is too long. Try to cut out details that don't necessarily add anything for the reader, but be sure that the plot is described in sufficient context that a reader unfamiliar with the game or Star Trek in general can understand what is going on.ss
    • I've made the "Plot" section shorter and excluded unnecessary informantion. ILorbb | Talk 15:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd recommend getting rid of the background section and merging relevant bits into the story sections and the introduction. See lead section.
  • If any game development information is available, add a section for it. If not, don't worry, but if there is it needs to be added.
  • The "Unlockable content" section is essentially trivia, unimportant to the overall subject. Get rid of the section, but make a very brief (and referenced) note of the existance of unlockable content in the gameplay section.
  • Ensure that the external links comply with policy. The official site and the Memory Alpha link can remain, and if the Mobygames and Star Trek Games Wiki entries are accurate and contain information useful but not appropriate in an encyclopedic context they can remain too. As for the others - Elite Force files, eliteforce.com, the Synapse and the two clan links - these are essentially spam and should be removed.
  • Make sure the Manual of Style is abided, and consider how well the current structure is to encyclopedic coverage of the article.
  • Get a couple of screenshots to exemplify graphics and gameplay.
    • Three screenshots, one for a minigame and two for gameplay mechanics. ILorbb | Talk 17:47, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Again, be sure to check the example articles on WP:VG to see what you should be aiming for. Feel free to ask any questions. -- Sabre (talk) 10:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

C'mon this is no High-importance article. Explain, or this will remain Low-importance. --Mika1h (talk) 19:47, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
