Expand?[edit]

I am highly tempted to expand this article by letting it cover both the French parent stem and the American branch of the Star Film Company. Much or all of the current text can remain, but such an expansion would allow Wikipedia to explain how Star Film originated, what films its French incarnation produced, etcetera. However, as this would mean a major addition/restructuring, I wanted to test the waters first. Any thoughts about a possible expansion?--Lemuellio (talk) 14:34, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly sounds like a good idea to me. Thanks for everything that you have been doing to improve these articles! --Jpcase (talk) 19:34, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great, especially since the link from the Georges Méliès article links here. Nv8200p talk 00:26, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you would like to add the information from those articles, then please do. Any expansions that you could make would be much appreciated. If you aren't familiar with editing Wikipedia and have any questions, then I can try to help you. --Jpcase (talk) 17:37, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Will add re Santa Paula, category Media in Ventura County, California also. As a film company, it needs a category for both French & American film companies also. PS: The River Wanganui has some details of his film-making in New Zealand, where he sacked some of the employees on his Pacific tour Hugo999 (talk) 01:55, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Three? Or Five?[edit]

Elsewhere on Wikipedia (the article on Edith Storey, and possibly others) it is stated that five, not three, Star Film Company shorts survive. Also, the name given in the Edith Storey article is "Star Film Ranch", in the caption of the inline webm file on that page. The title of the file appears to be erroneously given as "Billy and His Pal", possibly confused with Edith Storey's other film about Billy the Kid, and this may reflect the origin of the confusion. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edith_Storey#Selected_filmography rowley (talk) 19:58, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
