Adam Wawrzyniec = Adam Laurent?[edit]

The biography of Ewelina Hanska by Pierrot (ISBN 2-2340-5050-2) lists her father as Adam Laurent Rzewuski, whose father is Stanisław Ferdynand Rzewuski. I'm just wondering how the second name could be so different between Polish and French. Anyone have any ideas?

In some cases, the spellings between French (in which language the only biographies of Mme. Hanska are available) and Polish make sense -- the spelling of her own first name, for example, or "Théophile" in French and "Teofilia" in Polish. But the difference between Wawrzyniec and Laurent is vast and confusing. Scartol • Tok 11:36, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
