Article is misnamed[edit]

Sir William Stanley Goosman was popularly known as Stan, not William. Our article's first reference is to Barry Gustafson's book The First 50 Years: A History of the New Zealand National Party (1986), throughout which Goosman is called Stan. On page 70, for example: "An exception in Cabinet was clearly Stan Goosman, a very wealthy man who had started his working life as an ill-educated farm labourer." In the book's index, he is listed as "Goosman, Sir W. S. (Stan)." We also cite a 2009 Waikato Times newspaper story by Roy Burke that likewise, in its only mention of Goosman, refers to him as Stan. Also on page 401 (index) in Gustafson's book. Thanks for pointing this out; it shall be corrected forthwith. Schwede66 06:50, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
