Churchyard[edit]

Anyone who visits may be stuck by the vastness of the churchyard. There is a quite novel arrangement of memorials, along the pathway that runs around the south of the church, in a kind if (very cramped) terrace arrangement. I have personally not seen this anywhere else, but it may be quite common at other churchyards in this area. The main path from the entrance at the north of the churchyard incorporates a number of entire inscribed gravestones laid crossways, although I have seen this in a few other churchyards. Sadly the south-west gate to the churchyard is now entirely nissing. To the south-east of the church (near the rear of Morrisons supermarket) is a subtsnatial stone-bulit outbuilding, presumably used in churchyard maintenance, which is an unusual feature. I can't find any of these details mentioned in any WP:RS, however, so I guess they cannot be added. I suppose we should be grateful that such a large inner-city church is still in use at all. Info box[edit]

The "{Infobox church}" template includes parameters for, amongst other things, construction cost and clergy. Should these be added, if there is reliable information readily available? Or can they be simply ignored if they are considered to be "too messy" and/or require "high maintenance"? Many other church articles seem to use them. So how does one decide when they are and are not appropriate? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:32, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

(There is now a discussion at Template talk:Infobox church). Martinevans123 (talk) 12:22, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Common sense will hopefully prevail but I am not holding my breath.J3Mrs (talk) 13:00, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I had not realised how huge the complete church info box template was. I think the approach you have adopted here is perfectly reasonble and in line with common sense. But then I sometimes think that tne name of the vicar can be one of the most useful items in a church info box. I guess it all depends on what the reader is looking for when they come to the article.
