Merge section of Holywell Manor, Oxford[edit]

The section Holywell Manor, Oxford#St Cross Church is nothing to do with Holywell Manor and relates entirely to St Cross Church. However, it is completely unreferenced. I propose that it should be moved to St Cross Church, Oxford, but preferably it should be properly referenced at the same time. — Motacilla (talk) 23:13, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name?[edit]

Does anyone know why it is called "St Cross" Church? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Woscafrench (talk • contribs) 14:09, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about the specifics of this church but "St Cross" is short for "Saint Cross", which means Holy Cross, similar to St Saviour, meaning Holy Saviour. There are no saints with the personal name 'Cross' or 'Saviour', as far as I know. Nurg (talk) 08:29, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
