Sparkler Controversy[edit]

This article would benefit from the description of recent trends (including lots of youtube videos) dealing with people binding hundreds of sparklers and using them to create "Sparkler Bombs" that have a dangerously powerful explosion. Many arrests, news reports and other things have happened as a result of this phenomenon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.218.97.104 (talk) 03:50, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Give a single source of sparklers being explosive and it could be considered. BP OMowe (talk) 19:07, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sparklers in other countries[edit]

This article would benefit from mention of how sparklers are used in nations other than the US, for instance the Japanese "upside down" sparklers. Kouban 18:21, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Standard Fireworks[edit]

This article (Sparklers) redirects from a search for "Standard Fireworks." Standard Fireworks really should have their own entry. They were the leading British firework brand for many years, based in Huddersfield, and one of the first brands to introduce Chinese imports to Britain. The name still exists, although they are now owned by Black Cat fireworks of China. Anyway, they really should have their own entry, not just a redirection to sparklers!Wizlop 21:55, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By Definition?[edit]

Nowhere in definitions of the word firework do dictionaries say that it must be a ground launched projectile. This opening paragraph is missleading. Sparklers are a hand-held firework. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.253.187.20 (talk) 01:36, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I'll edit it now, can anyone who disagrees find some sort of official deffinition that claims otherwise. Will Bradshaw (talk) 19:49, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
