Importance rating[edit]

I am disappointed to read that this article is of low importance. This team started a LOT of career in the pros and should be of greater importance in the history of professional baseball and minor league baseball. I'm sorry you feel that way, but I stand by the true importance of this professional sports franchise and the effect it had on southern Oregon. Ccwstandard (talk) 04:04, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alas, in the grand scheme of things, this team is not that important. But you might be mistaking importance to Oregon to importance to WikiProject Oregon. It's not a reflection of the worth of the topic or anything else, merely a way of keeping track of which articles merit more attention from the project. You can read more about it here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Oregon/Assessment#Importance scale, which can also be reached via a link in the project template above. It might be more important to WikiProject baseball, whose tag I've added to the article. Katr67 (talk) 22:32, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Original founding[edit]

This team was founded as the Bend Timber Hawks in 1978. Silvercoindinerman (talk) 14:20, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I worked there. This is wrong. Fred Herrmann had nothing to do with starting careers.

Fred Herrmann had nothing to do with starting any careers. He had no say in the decision of Oakland and exploited people every chance he got. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpbinga (talkcontribs) 05:59, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
