Population[edit]

Are these population numbers correct?

1990 9,188 47.9% 2000 5,081 −44.7% 2010 9,644 89.8%

Huh? Either something really weird happened between 1990 and 2000, and then again last decade, or these numbers are way off. I'm somewhat familiar with this little seaside town and there hasn't been the construction or level of urban decay for those figures to make sense. 2601:9:1100:41E:C852:2E31:4DA1:4036 (talk) 04:56, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I checked the US census website, and these population figures match. I suspect there were some neighborhoods missed in the 2000 Census. —Stepheng3 (talk) 05:02, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I grew up in Soquel. My family still lives there. The population did not noticeably fluctuate during that time period. The US Census B. has incorrect data. Even if the entire pop left, the housing demand from Silicon Valley would fill that town in a month. This was especially true during the Dot Com boom. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.193.13.233 (talk) 15:47, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation with Socal?[edit]

Soquel, when spoken is often confused with SoCal, an informal term for Southern California, which Soquel is not a part of. Should there be a disambiguation?108.225.17.141 (talk) 15:54, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'll add some just in case.—Stepheng3 (talk) 01:37, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
