Solid Gold Easy Action was a No. 1 single in Japan in early 1973. It was the peak of T. Rextacy in Japan. Although, the follow-up 20th Century Boy seems to still symbolize the influence, that T. Rex had on popular culture in Japan. Significantly, illustrated in the Manga Comic books 20th Century Boys( by Naoki Urasawa ) and the trilogy of live-action movies released in Japan in 2008 and 2009.

Solid Gold Easy Action was demoed many times by both Marc Bolan and his group T. Rex. Its sound is steeped in 50's Rock N Roll and Rockabilly. One can hear Buddy Holly and Imelda May in its energy and joyfulness.

Musically its the closest to an electric guitar sounding like a machine gun during the solo. But I never heard that Jeff Lynne had any part in the recording.

Its title is a nod or tribute to The Rolling Stones. Marc Bolan was not just a egotistical rock star. He was a fan of all, including his contemporaries. I feel Bolan was nodding towards the Brian Jones group. As Jagger/Richards never gave Marc Bolan his dues as an artist, as a talented English artist above beyond their individual talents. Marc Bolan like Kate Bush was a multimedia song writer, he tried to paint pictures (in the listeners imagination) with his best music.

In conclusion, from Shakespeare to Dali or from prophetic to trivial "Life is the same and it always will be

It's as easy as picking foxes from a tree" (Marc Bolan). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.44.71.102 (talk) 14:00, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
