Hi, can I possibly get some help with the copyright and licensing of the two pictures that I have used in the 'socio-ecological system article'? I am not sure how to add the copyright tag and which tag to use. Both of the pictures are referenced and the articles are available online. Thanks. Why is this page called socio-ecological rather than social-ecological - when most of the literature it cites uses the term social-ecological systems!

The title of this page should be changed to 'social-ecological systems' for the reasons given above. The term is widely used and matches the actual references on the page. Socio-ecological systems versus social ecological systems[edit]

To be really clear on language, there should be two separate pages instead of this one on "socio-ecological system": one on the socio-ecological systems perspective that has a heritage in social systems thinking from the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, and a second on the social ecological systems -- the entry that currently closest in Wikipedia is in the Panarchy section on Systems theory -- that comes from the Resilience Science research by ecologists.

The socio-ecological systems perspective was developed by Eric Trist and Fred Emery. Social ecological systems are defined in the Resilience Dictionary at the Stockholm Resilience Centre at http://www.stockholmresilience.org/21/research/what-is-resilience/resilience-dictionary.html . Thus, the socio-ecological systems perspective (with the related Sociotechnical systems perspective) should be of interest primarily to WikiProject Sociology, and social ecological systems (along with the related Panarchy model should be of interest primarily to the WikiProject Ecology. Merger proposal[edit]

I propose merging Socioecology into Socio-ecological system. The former article has very little contents. Agnerf (talk) 13:40, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Should be done with proper {{merge to}} and {{merge from}} proposals on the two pages, but seems uncontroversial to me. Both pages look like attempts to advertise particular academics' (or groups of academics') attempts to define the field rather than a broad overview of all research looking at socioecological systems as a whole, under whatever fashionable name is used. I suspect that there are other articles already covering the same topic, under slightly different names, so further mergers are probably justified too. Boud (talk) 14:06, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
