The American Humane Association Statement on Snow Buddies[edit]

Back in March 27, 2007 the AHA released a statement after 5 puppies died while on location for the filming of this movie. The actual press release can be found in the Web Archive here: American Humane: Newsroom: News Releases: Snow Buddies and dogster.com has an article dating back to 2008 referencing that statement here: Snow Buddies Not Much Fun for Puppies Who Died in Filming.

I'll have to admit that I'm not entirely sure how many dogs died according to that statement. If I understood it correctly the were alerted after 5 puppies died (in some form of accident), and that earlier in production 3 puppies had to be euthanized. What seems to be AHA's official review of Snow Buddies here: Snow Buddies doesn't say 5 puppies, instead of referring to them simply as "puppies". It does however use the same language to refer to the 3 puppies that were euthanized.

The fact that this movie could not receive the "No Animals Were Harmed in the Making of This Film" badge seems note-worthy enough to me to be mentioned in this article. I would however like to find more comprehensive information published after the release of this movie. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.208.189.39 (talk) 18:29, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
