Since water/ice, slush has a very low temperature, it has been used as the basis for partially-frozen

This is the start of the first line of this article and it's crap. The grammar in it is appalling, I would edit it but I'm not even sure what it is trying to say. Saccerzd 17:05, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Making your own slushy[edit]

What is the key to making a "smooth" slushy? Is it just a matter of putting the drink in your freezer long enough for it to completely freeze and then thawing it? What causes it to end up that way rather than simply as half packed ice and half liquid? Captain Zyrain 17:47, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In a real slush machine, the trick is constant stirring and plenty of sugar. Both prevent ice crystal from growing into ice clumps. --Mdwyer (talk) 23:40, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Granizados[edit]

Do granizados really count as slushies? I know they're both based on ice and syrup, but granizados are solid shaved ice which feels nothing like a slushy. Actually I would say they're identical to snow cones. Since that page also makes mention of piraguas, wouldnt it be better to just move it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bernalj90 (talkcontribs) 15:33, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Slush does not equal Icee[edit]

I would contend that an Icee, since carbonated, does not count as a slush. A slush is more ice with flavoring added, whereas icee is carbonated and generally homogenous. A slush is more of a heterogenous mixture. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.208.18.135 (talk) 19:26, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Slushie Title Change[edit]

The title of this page should be 'Slushie'. The only citation for spelling in this article is to Merriam Webster's definition of "slushy" which I agree is the correct etymology of the name, but NOT the correct spelling for the beverage. Slush as a drink is its own thing; a slushie. Several people have corrected this spelling mistake within the article, however the title continues to reflect this error. If anyone contests this change I'd very much love to know your reasoning. In the meantime, I'm prepared to edit it myself as soon as I can figure out how. Please advise.
