It can be argued that Diatribe of a Mad Housewife foreshadowed Lisa's eating disorder: When Lisa wonders how she should react to Marge's novel, her libido, locked inside a cage, says "binge and purge", referencing bulimia. In response, Lisa's conscience states her libido is not getting out until Lisa is sixteen - which could be interpreted as the sixteenth season. --Pidgeot (t) (c) (e) 17:24, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

St. Laurent[edit]

First of all, to say something is ironic without a reference is subjective and original research. Second of all, any Canadian who doesn't know who St. Laurent is knows nothing about history anyway. CanadianCaesar Et tu, Brute? 20:28, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Look my friend, I'm currently majoring in history at Laurier (so don't lecture me on history), but we're going from an American perspective and it is ironic that with all of the possible PMs - Chretien, Pearson, Trudeau, Sir John A., Borden, Mackenzie King, Mulroney, Laurier) - they chose St. Laurent. I'm also wondering if you've actually seen the episode. -- Scorpion 20:32, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
With that statement you've done nothing to remedy its subjectivity. Wikipedia is not written from an American perspective, it's a neutral perspective that can be understandable to anyone. CanadianCaesar Et tu, Brute? 20:34, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just because he's well known to you doesn't make him well known to everyone. -- Scorpion 20:35, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes.... but just because you think he's obscure doesn't mean you have statistical proof for that. You still need a reference WP:CITE. CanadianCaesar Et tu, Brute? 21:52, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Never said I think he's obscure. I didn't add that note, it was already there, but I think it should stay. In case you haven't seen the episode, the joke (in the episode) is that a nerdy 10 year old kid is just supposed to draw a picture of Eisenhower, but he draws Eisenhower AND St. Laurent and says their "relationship was foggy at best". The joke is that he's such a nerd that not only can he draw Eisenhower, but he knows of and drew St. Laurent for no good reason.

other refrences- the part wherenelson eats the sand which and looks at marge is a spoof of star wars

Fair use rationale for Image:Sleeping With the Enemy.jpg[edit]

Image:Sleeping With the Enemy.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

File:Nelsonssss.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Nelsonssss.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
