Solecism?[edit]

"a solecism; a rabbi would never refer to any part of Jewish scripture as "the Old Testament"." -- While obviously an error, this is apparently not a solecism ("grammatical mistake or absurdity") based on the discussion in that article. -- 201.37.230.43 (talk) 22:28, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was the one who put this in. "Old Testament" here is not a grammatical mistake but it is an absurdity.. my impression is that "solecism" refers to the type of mistake of unfamiliarity (grammatical or semantic) that someone makes when trying to talk like a group of people that they don't actually belong to.. the solecism article seems to bear this out at least partially. Still if you would prefer to replace "solecism" with "error" or something else of your preference, I won't stand in your way. Zargulon (talk) 10:10, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Closing sequence[edit]

I was looking here because I was intrigued by the closing sequence (over the credits) which showed pictures similar to the bar mitzvah in the film and I wondered if it was real footage of Paul Weiland's bar mitzvah. It was only that which let me to wonder if it was based on a true story.
