Expansion[edit]

I do not have access to a newspaper archive, so I lack reliable sources used for the non-political parts of Leigh's career.

However, he was enormously wealthy (his £14million fortune in 1921 must be the equivalent about about £1billion today), so there must be more significant coverage of him.

A few points for editors to check out:

  • He appears to have a park named after him in Altrincham, having donated the land [1]. However, I cannot confirm that it is the same John Leigh, so have not included it in the article
  • Other snippets: he owned Witley Park, a mansion in Surrey. Not a reliable source, so I haven't used it, but maybe a pointer to further research. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 15:30, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
