"Granddaddy"[edit]

To appease the one person who repeatedly insisted upon a citation for the slogan "The Granddaddy of all Root Beers," I added the comment about the it being written on the bottle, but that makes the sentense sound strange, so I'm removing it. From this point on I think I don't think a product's slogan should require a citation. It's printed on the product, that should suffice. Am I wrong? :-) The "repeated" citation request ([1], [2]) isn't meant to irritate you or cast doubt about the claim. It’s just part of the rule set we use around here, in this case verifiability. I don’t think a product slogan always catches on, so we still don’t have an independent source that states the product is known as "the Grandaddy" by its consumers. Considering it is a product slogan, "referred to as such by Sioux City" would be - I think - a more accurate phrasing. --Van helsing 13:55, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
