Unless anyone objects, I propose to add the reason for closure of the original off-broadway show (fire dept. shutdown theater) and closure for the Broadway show after 62-performances (Actors Union). I will provide major newspaper reports for both of these as citations.

I also feel it's worth noting that on transfer to Broadway it was the first all black cast and production, including writing. I will also add that it was the subject of a 2-hour TV broadcast program on TV and was repeated.

Thanks for the feedback, I will add these, I'm just wrapping my Leon Bibb project now. Bibb was in both off-Broadway and some on-Broadway performances using his blacklisted nom de plume, Lee Charles! Which is how I came across this. Cathcam (talk) 21:28, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
