first pass[edit]

I have completed the first pass of this article. If anyone would like to lend a hand, there are probably additional battles in which significant Signal Corps actions occurred. They should be added in chronological sequence to the appropriate section. suspected typo[edit]

The table of flag sizes lists 8"x8" for the size of a white square on a 4'x4' red flag. I think this is a typo (should be 16"x16"), but am not sure. If it is supposed to be 8"x8", can someone provide a citation?

You're right, it was supposed to be 8x8. I fixed it and footnoted the table. (It's the same cite as the following paragraph.) Thanks for catching. Hal Jespersen 20:30, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New challenging thoughts[edit]

It has been on my "to do" list to get to this topic ... the Confederate States Army Signal Corps. Alas, great minds think alike, and a rough order is here as a section. Is there any beef in my having an article specifically on the CSA Signal Corps, delving with yours truly, Captain Nemo-Grayghost, to a more detailed depth? The innovative invention of the Signal Corps by the illustrious BGen EPA is a bit muffled in this article, is it not? Grayghost01 (talk) 01:49, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is no problem having a separate article for the Confederates although, since common technology was used on both sides, I chose to put them in the same article to avoid overlap. I will be interested to see what "innovative invention" you claim Lt. Alexander is responsible for beyond what is already described in this article—the first use of Myer's wigwag signaling system in combat. Hal Jespersen (talk) 16:27, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

September edits[edit]

There were a few edits made to the Confederate signal corps section in September that I overlooked at the time. I have attempted to clean these up. However, the information about Milligan is not cited. This is a fully cited article, so please provide one or more citations for the added material by December 4. Thanks.
