The Siberian Military District was formed by joining the Trans-Baikal military district (ZabVO) and old Siberian Military District in accordance with Presidential Decree number 900 of 27.07. 1998 and the Order of the Defense Ministry № 048 from 11 August 1998, actually began its activities in the new composition of 1 December 1998.

  • Western Military District
    • 22 TsBHiRT (military unit 42713, 157001, Kostroma region, Bui) - T-90A. BMP-3. Branch No. 2 of the 22nd Central BRT (military unit 42713-2, Tver) - earlier military unit 22033 (former 70th Guards Vitebsk-Novgorod twice Red Banner BKhVT (MSV), (military unit 22033, g . Tver), previously 166 Omsbr). It was supposed to be disbanded by 09/01/2009, in reality it was disbanded in 2010.

    • 1311 TsBHiRT (military unit 42716, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Verkhnyaya Pyshma), former PURVO;
    • 3018 TsBRT (military unit 75485, 624852, Sverdlovsk region, Kamyshlov); On 10/19/1989, on the basis of the directive of the USSR Ministry of Defense, a decision was made to form a central base for the reserve of tanks. On April 8, 1990, military equipment began to arrive in Poroshino. On 10/19/1990, when the organizational period ended at the place of deployment in the Elansky garrison, the commander of the PUrVO issued an order to complete the formation of the 3018th CBRT.     • 1295 Central Tank Reserve Base (TsBRiKhT) (military unit 42718, 692343, Primorsky Territory, Arseniev, Sovkhoznaya St., 131) - since 1946. History of the base - formed in the city of Gorky on the basis of the 3rd reserve (or training) tank regiment in 1947 and was immediately relocated to the city of Dalnerechensk, Primorsky Krai. During the aggravation of the situation with China in 1969-70, she was relocated to the city of Arsenyev, Primorsky Krai. Callsign Gladstone. There are T-62 series tanks at the base.     • 2nd Guards Tank Tatsinskaya Red Banner Ord. Suvorov Division (military unit 59263, Choibalsan, 131st site, call sign "Dekadnik") was created on July 24, 1945 in LenVO, Pskov, from 1947 - Vyru, from 1953 - Luga, (during the Second World War - 2 Guards MK, military unit 43055), April 1968 transferred to 39 OA, ZabVO (MPR), Choibalsan, military unit 59263. from 05.1990 - Bezrechnaya, military unit 49539, in March 2001 folded into 3742 Central BRT, disbanded in 2005. The regalia of the division were transferred to the 245th Motor Rifle Division (in Gusinoozersk).
