Roman Civ Class[edit]

I think that this is a very well written article that goes into great detail about The Shrine of Venus Cloacina. However, when you discuss the origin of the shrine, you mentioned how the Romans found mates by raping women from Sabine Settlements. In addition to this, I remember that Professor Strong went into more detail about how the Romans tricked the Sabines by inviting them to Romans games or a festival, and then stole the women at the games. You could mention that and go into more detail. Other than that, great article!

Really well written article. The history of the goddess' origin was especially interesting. Did you happen to find a picture/statue of her? Or a picture of the coins you discuss? That would be really interesting to see. Also, if there happens to be any info on the type of rituals that took place in the temple or any more info about the worship of Cloacina would be a great addition (if available). Otherwise, great detail and formatting!

Great article! The way in which you break it up makes for easy reading! Like Jenny said, it would be nice to have a picture of a statue or the coins. Maybe a good thing to do is add more links to other wiki articles. Perhaps? Going into more detail over all would be nice, but for the purposes of the assignment I think this is a well constructed article. I would definitely add the story of the Rape of the Sabine Women in more detail. Good stuff!

Thanks for all the feedback. I managed to add more detail about the rape of the Sabine women, but I was not able to find any images in the public domain of the shrine or the coins. The owners of the images in the private domain were not responsive when I e-mailed them.
