I'm not 100% happy with the article as I posted it, mostly because it lacks references. I know it's on maps, and I've seen tourist information about Short Beach, but don't have my hands on any of it at the moment. I'm also frustrated with the origin of the name -- even though some locals who have lived near the beach for eighty years say it was named for a "Mr. Short", I haven't found anyone who can verify that. My big reason for writing the article was confusion by people looking for Short Beach who weren't able to find it on Wiki! Short Sands Beach, farther north, and Short Beach on the east coast of the U.S. are easily found, but I've been amazed at just how many people have expected it to be on Wikipedia if it's worth visiting. Someone's done some work here without commenting. I want to pick on the term "shingle beach", because most of the year there's good sand at low tide, and in late summer sand covers more area than rock does. Given the article about a shingle beach, I'm not convinced that the term applies to Short Beach.

I missed a trick recently; there was an article in the local paper in Tillamook, about Short Beach; I failed to obtain a copy for referencing. Dismalscholar (talk) 21:47, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
