Ugliest animal on earth?

A nature program said this animal was voted to be the 'ugliest animal on earth.' Should I say this in the article? AbsoluteZero255 01:20, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Who on earth would say that a Shoebill was ugly? I find them to be fascinating. However, if you can cite the nature program, feel free to add it to the article. Rufous-crowned Sparrow 01:23, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
I do not think that it is ugly either. AbsoluteZero255 01:28, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Not ugly, but unusual.Alpha957 (talk) 22:18, 7 May 2009 (UTC) Alpha957

Beastly Countdown: Shockers has Shoebill as #1 for being the ugliest animal, being uglier than turkeys!

I don't think it's worth putting into the article it's just one's opinion. Frankyboy5 (talk) 07:23, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

Can it fly?

The article makes no mention of whether this is a flightless bird or not, except for the mention of a possible flightless fossil ancestor. Anybody care to find/add that info? 62.219.163.100 (talk) 11:30, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

It can fly. I'll see if I can slip it in- generally I think it is assumed that birds can fly unless otherwise stated. Rufous-crowned Sparrow (talk) 12:24, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Video not working just for me?

Is somthing borked just on my side or the video isn't working for anyone else? --TiagoTiago (talk) 00:49, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Seriously???

Who added in the "relationship to humans section" "Also in the Past they used to be bigger and Humans used to ride them and control them, when they lived up skyward, and they also were used by the guards and people all around as a transportation from island to island. This has been lost through time due to their shrinkening and humans have changed their pets to dogs, cats, little birds and the poor shoebills have had no other option but to stop growing that much and now only a midget with the triforce of courage is able to ride them..[7]" I don't have access to the book, but I highly doubt it mentions them being larger in the past and used as transportation by humans! How many years has this been in here without anyone else noticing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dilly1979 (talkcontribs) 04:00, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Pop Culture Section?

just thought i'd propose an "In popular culture" section for the article. shoebills themselves don't appear all that much, but the loftwings of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword are based on them and are a pretty big part of the story 20:47, 20 January 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.108.70.169 (talk)

"In popular culture" section.

How about one consisting of Skyward Sword? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.254.60.77 (talk) 02:41, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
