There is some debate about the province of this song. According to his granddaughter, Dave Stamper actually wrote the song when he was working as Nora's accompanist when she played the Vaudeville circuit, and he sold the song to her husband. This was not uncommon at the time. Stampers wrote many songs for the Ziegfield Follies and wrote the score to several the Broadway shows.K8 fan 20:03, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Today 3/30/08, I came across the Original Royalty Agreement on Shine on Harvest Moon. ( It has been in my basement in a metal box for years. July 8th, 1906, Document from Office of Globe Music Co., 1193 Broadway, New York, Keith and Proctor's Theatre Bldg. It was registered to my Uncle, I do not know how many great are in front of that. His name was Albert W. Koch, for 10,000 copies. Google searches for "Albert W. Koch" AND songwriter produced no hits. Or the name and "sheet music". The other claimants do show up in searches. It seems more probable that Koch just published an edition of this very popular song, and had nothing to do with the writing. I'd like to see a scan of the document. Lyrics[edit]

Are we sure about "S'no time"? If that means "It's no time," then the apostrophe is in the wrong place. But "Snow time" sounds the same and has the advantage of making sense. Winter is coming.
