First Divorce?

According to the chapter "Personal life" her first marriage was at the age of 24 and the divorce one year later. This would mean it was in the mid of the 90's. According to the short biography her first divorce was 2004. Which is correct? --91.45.7.39 (talk) 11:08, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Her first divorce was NOT in 2004, she divorced in 1994 and later her second marriage was to David Goldberg in 2004. Backendgaming (talk) 06:58, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

No. It's an ethnicity as well as a religion. See Jewish_ethnic_divisions and Genetic_studies_on_Jews. Jews could be ethnically Jewish and not practice the religion (in the case of Mark Z) as well. 98.210.60.236 (talk) 20:24, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
No, you are wrong. There is no ethnicity known as "Jewish". It's a cultural identity and religion, not an ethnicity. A Jew from Russian is Russian. A Jew from France is French. One's faith and culture are not interchangeable. they are distinct things.

Most Russian Jews from Russia are of ethnic Ashkenazi Jewsish origin and very few ethnic Russians themselves practice Judaism unless they are married a Russian Ashkenazi Jew, since a majority of ethnic Russians practice Orthodox Christianity.

LOL, how exactly is an opinion column from an unrecognized expert going to substantiate your claims that the Jews aren't an ethnic group? Other articles across Wikipedia have clearly supported by legitimate citations and sources, largely consisting of DNA evidence proving that Jews are a district ethnic group. The information you posted above comes from an unsubstantiated opinion column, opinion columns AREN'T reliable sources. From my own eyes looking at Google images of various Jews, for instance look at this one, http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Radio/author.aspx/4334 I can easily tell by their darker skin color and conspicuous brunette beards that they look different from other Caucasian ethnic groups. Jews are defined in Wikipedia as a "people" — an intermix of both, but it is often disputed ad naseum. Wikipedia supporting a religious rule that people of a certain heritage are automatically members of a religion is not consistent and often intentionally ignored (see Richard Feynman for an example) and opens up a can of worms regarding conflicting religious claims to membership (e.g. The Church of Latter Day Saints converting dead victims of the Holocaust, making them technically Mormon). The description of her mother's career is, at best, ambiguous. "her mother worked as a French college teacher" She taught French at the college level. She didn't work at a French college as a teacher (Roblaw42). New section falsely alleges criminal indictment

There is a new section of the article called "German Criminal Indictment." It is false in its main characterization and a serious violation of WP: BLP. While WP: BLP states that "contentious material" can be removed without discussion, since I have a WP: COI as a paid representative of the Outcast Agency, which represents Facebook, I'd prefer that someone else make the change.

In short, Sandberg has not been indicted for a crime. A private lawyer has filed a complaint against Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, Sandberg and other Facebook executives. Any citizen in Germany can file a criminal complaint, which then will be preliminarily investigated by the authorities, who decide whether to indict. The editor here may have falsely claimed an indictment because without it, it seems it's not warranted to be included in the article at all.

The cited source, in German, bears this out. You can run a Google translate if you don't speak German, to check. I've added an English language source, in the redraft below, so you can check it out that way, as well.

Given that this is complaint by a private citizen, and not a criminal indictment by the authorities, I also don't think this warrants its own section, or even to necessarily be included at all, especially since the complaint is chiefly against Facebook and names many executives. I think it should just be a couple of sentences in the Career section, at best, or not included at all, unless it actually does result in an indictment. It's a highly contentious and speculative allegation unless the authorities decide to indict (and criminally indict Sandberg personally, not just Facebook.) There are hundreds of lawsuits and complaints against Facebook and its officers at any time, and to cherry pick one for the Sandberg biographical profile, when there's been no official indictment, seems out of place. The section is also too long, diverting to a discussion of German criminal law, not properly part of a biographical article. The final source use by the editor, by the way, is an opinion column, so it might not be suitable to include the content it cites to, about the other complaint.

Here's the corrected version I suggest, if it's to be included at all:

  • On November 4, 2016, a private Bavarian lawyer filed a complaint with the First District Attorney’s Office of Munich, Germany, asking the Office to consider on charges of “incitement to hatred” under Volksverhetzung law against Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, Sandberg and other Facebook executives. The District Attorney's Office said they were preliminarily investigating the complaint.[1] [2] A similar complaint was brought by the same lawyer in the District Attorney’s Office of Hamburg, Germany in October 2015, but after review, the Hamburg Office declined to pursue it because Facebook only maintainted advertising offices in Germany.[3]

As per WP:BLP, I have immediately removed this section. I want to be clear, I do not object to someone reinstating it, so long as the reinstatement does not violate WP:BLP.
