Olmsted and Ginter[edit]

It is curious that Ginter engaged Olmsted to help layout Sherwood Park and "Brook Turnpike", but not Ginter Park or Bellevue. Can anyone shed any light on this? Tachyon (talk) 15:58, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

O.H. Funston and Elam & Funston[edit]

Apparently after Ginter's death, the development and sale of Northside properties may have been continued in the early 20th century by a realtor named O.H. Funston who later became a partner in Elam and Funston. It is hard to find information about this. The only record to Funston that I have found is: https://architecturerichmond.com/2013/02/25/architects-of-richmond-claude-k-howell/ (https://web.archive.org/web/20181102054555/https://architecturerichmond.com/2013/02/25/architects-of-richmond-claude-k-howell/ on Internet Archive). More info may likely be found in Richmond Times-Dispatch archives or Google e-books, but so far I have had no luck. Anyone with historical research experience is welcome to comment.

Modern History[edit]

The banner signs at the entrances of Sherwood Park (which have been plowed down by speeding cars several times) indicate the development was founded in 1926. Does anyone know the modern history of the site and who the developers were at the time? The first house in Sherwood Park was sold in 1929, well after Ginter's death. References would be helpful.
