The result of the move request was: moved. Rough consensus that this town is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for its name, and that the "Shchekino" spelling is the WP:COMMONNAME by a large enough margin to override the recommendations of WP:RUS. WP:COMMONNAME per Google Books Ngram  —Michael Z. 14:57, 11 January 2023 (UTC) —Added move of associated dab. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 02:48, 12 January 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 03:05, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See also Shchyokino (disambiguation), which I will propose renaming too. —Michael Z. 19:41, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note to closer: nom moved ShchyokinoShchekino as stated above. I have updated the move request to add the resulting associated dab. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 02:48, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of the dab page all items but one are spelled that way, so I don’t know why it’s name should depend on this one.  —Michael Z. 02:57, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per link submitted within the nomination. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 19:39, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, the number of hits is insufficient to determine what COMMONNAME is, and we need top use WP:RUS. The two above user are on a crusade in an editing area they have very little understanding about.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:36, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom. This is a city of 60,000 and clearly the primary topic among numerous red-linked villages listed. The proposed transliteration is for an order of magnitude higher than the current one based on WP:RUS. No such user (talk) 12:53, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
