I removed the reference to the Tuscarora in the opening paragraph of the History section, because they didn't join the Iroquois Confederation until the 18th century, after they were defeated by English colonists in North Carolina. Also, the Gnadenhutten Massacre occurred in 1782, not 1755. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Madtal (talkcontribs) 17:32, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Government[edit]

Shamokin Dam is governed by a seven member borough council elected at-large and an elected Mayor, Joseph A. McGranaghan. Day to day operation of the borough is conducted by an appointed borough manager and borough secretary. The borough workforce provides excellent municipal services including snow plowing, maintenance of municipal parks, and building and grounds maintenance and weekly brush and branch pickup. The borough has a police department staffed by a chief and two fulltime and two part-time officers. Code enforcement is provided by Keystone COG. 64.67.134.54 (talk) 17:00, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
