Selhurst to London Bridge via Forest Hill[edit]

An anon user (195.93.21.136) indicated on 18 August 2006 that there's a new route to London Bridge, trying to amend the succession box to reflect this. I travel through there quite a bit and haven't noticed any new bridges or whatever but I could be wrong. Anyone know about this (and if so, provide references)? --A bit iffy 19:35, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are trains to London Bridge via the Dulwiches, and there are trains to London Bridge via Crystal Palace. Guineveretoo 21:40, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anon user is a little confused. It is possible to go from Selhurst station on the Victoria slow lines to Norwood Jn station on the London Bridge lines by use of Selhurst depot Arrival or Departure lines but (i) it's a very old route & (ii) it's for Empty Coaching Stock/emergencies only, so no passenger service could be booked through there. Hence it doesn't qualify for the succession box. As always Quail Maps are your friend - see Map Book #5 page 14, box C for details. Fu Manchuchu (talk) 00:48, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Back in the days of British Rail, passenger services were able to run from Selhurst station to Norwood Junction station and vice versa, the old Norwood to Selhurst bridge section can still be seen trailing off to the right from the Norwood Jct to West Croydon line at the top of the incline as the line passes over the East Croydon to London Bridge fast lines although this old section is now quite fully overgrown with vegatation.Southerndriver (talk) 08:52, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lightboxes[edit]

Does anybody know the origin of the plastic lightboxes in the railway arches on the way from the station building to the back exit? Guineveretoo 21:40, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures[edit]

Hopefully, I will be able to obtain a picture of the station entrance and the interior and if someone could enter something about the depot or make a page entitled Selhurst Depot I could include a image on that too! Pafcool2 16:24, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
