Sekirei of a dead Ashikabi[edit]

Just like Akitsu, the ice sekirei, it is most probable that No.1 Miya and No.9(?) Karasuba are "disused" sekirei as well. The fact that they use their hair bangs to hide their forehead might not be strong enough evidence but the "crimson mark" is faintly seen on their individual foreheads during certain circumstances, I for one noticed it on Miya's forehead when she gets serious after Minato's company gets ambushed by the Disciplinary Squad on the railway bridge, just after Matsu informs her of the situation. The fact that her husband (and most probably her ashikabi is dead) also might be enough to consider her a renegade who is out of the game, since she has become a "disused" player...just like Karasuba, who also is not a participant in the Sekirei Plan. The author has not used his manga to directly present self-determination and metaphysical issues as Masamune Shirow has with Ghost in the Shell. For now, some people use "product" as a synonym for Sekirei, but it is wholly possible that they are not product, but adaptable humanoids of high potential traveling in stasis when their ship failed and remained on the planet. The author has made the series into a happy harem style of anime, but it seems clear so far that the sekirei have mostly been downgraded to not use all of their potential. The sekirei who are released become dependant upon humans who can imprint them. That one concept is what turns the sekirei into a "product". The author has not yet indicated that sekirei's malleability resulted in their downfall when humans chose to awaken them after tuning as product. Therefore, it would be appropriate for the article to not use the word "product" because that would indicate a bias when the author has not yet indicated various aspects of self-determination or slavery of a species. Karasuba seems to be the one with the most self-determination ability and considers the humans as a species to be inferior to the sekirei and that earth doesn't need humans.AnimeJanai (talk) 19:17, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Miya's status[edit]

In the article, it says that it's not clear if Miya Asami has been winged. However, in chapter 56 or 57 (I forget which) it's announced that 'the last unwinged sekirei resides in the northern section', referring to Homura. This would mean that Miya is, clearly winged. Where does it say that miya took down helicopters and tanks in the manga? I only saw her take down a warship. Also I think miya is winged, but her husband is dead so I don't know if it still countsDekir (talk) 04:45, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sekirei sequel[edit]

Well judging by the end of episode 12 it's certainly set up for a sequel. It hasn't even been a year since it ended so there's plenty of time for that to come out, perhaps covering another 50 chapters or so? So, I take it that we can expect another 12 episodes. I say 12 episodes for two reasons. One is that the first 12 episodes took up the first 49 chapters of the manga. And currently (August 18, 2009), there are only 87 chapters (maybe 95, I'm not sure), which obviously is not enough for 26 or 52 more episodes.
