Legal issues?
The reference to the company having trouble with "a strong legal basis for it's actions", needs citation. Does Sears have more lawsuits against it than other comparable companies? If so, please provide citation...jme66.72.215.225

Sears logo
Regarding Image:1970 SimpsonsSears Logo.gif: Noticing that the edits about the dates of the logo were reverted, I'd like to know - what were the dates that this logo was used? I remember seeing this logo in use up through the 1990's, but somehow I doubt it was the original logo. The "1970" gets some credibility due to its use in the title, but I couldn't find a good source for it when I googled it. Anyone? How big is the biggest Sears?

It has 416,000 square feet of retail space. The largest Sears store in the world, operated by Sears Canada, is 817,850 square feet, in the Toronto Eaton Centre. I do not know where they confirm this - Woodfield is a large Sears - stores there tend to have the highest sales. Does any one have a source for the statement from the main page??? Sears once claimed title "World's Largest Store", but that was largest retailer at that time through most of the 20th century until passed by Kmart (short time), and since by Wal-mart. kidsheaven 02:06, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Brand Central/HomeLife/etc.
Could someone please add some information to the listings for Sears Brand Central, HomeLife, etc.? I admit I kinda did a rush job on those sections (which were originally on Sears Holdings; thanks to Caldorwards4 for moving them here.) TenPoundHammer 17:53, 18 February 2007 (UTC) HomeLife furniture had many locations, I thought they were sold to another company. Which led to odd situation of large parts of Sears stores being owned by another retailer (or leased). Freestanding locations I know of changed to other companies John M. Sears competition
With Federated merging the MayCo stores into Macy's, Sears and Macy's are no longer different. Macy's has opened up as just another department store, therefore the section stating Sears competes below Macy's is incorrect and needs to be rewritten or removed. --Write On 1983 02:34, 4 March 2007 (UTC) Actually, I have a problem with this statement "The company competes on an average price level on par with J.C. Penney and Kohl's. Sears has also recently rivaled with Belk, Dillard's, and Macy's." I've never heard of Sears being compared to Dillard's, and as far as prices go, Sears is frequently below JCPenny and Kohls, which are in turn below Belk, etc. Could we get a source from say a trade mag or equiv? The article mentions "These stores were closed in 1993 when Sears closed its catalog business." For me, this is ironic...Another Wikipedia article indicates that the Internet (electronic catalog) marketplace had already begun: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-commerce#Timeline However, I don't know if irony has a place in wikipedia. Sears → Sears, Roebuck and Co. — "The "Sears" you see in advertisements and on storefronts is actually the company logo, not the official name. The official company name, which dates back to 1893, is Sears, Roebuck and Co. – with "and" spelled out and "company" abbreviated" Quoting the Sears Archives at http://www.searsarchives.com/history/questions/officialname.htm All other Encylopedias I have seen also refer to it as Sears, Roebuck and Co. and I bet if you emailed the company and asked them for their input they would probably want it listed as Sears, Roebuck and Co. Current Sears logo 2009
The logo being used by Sears on current mall directories, buildings, and correspondence is the Sears logo without the red arc or the "Life. Well Spent." Tagline. The logo with the Tagline is used only on marketing applications, such as advertising, websites, and point-of-sale. Rewards Point Conversion Error/Clarification Needed
Someone please clarify the rewards point conversion.
One cent on the dollar per point.... and 22,000 points does not multiply out to $22.00
Is it a typo of the 22,000 point value? A mis-statement of the points-per-penny? A multiplication error?

AIDS and misogyny in the picture (change it please)
The catalog scan picture reads "AIDS that every woman appreciates". Of course this is meant as "kitchen aids" but still. This gives me an uneasy feeling. Today, AIDS stands for a deadly sexual disease. Clearly not "every woman appreciates"! Couldn't we replace the picture with a more neutral one? Besides, it seems not gender-neutral to me. - Respectfully, are you serious? The picture is a historical artifact. In 1918, AIDS didn't exist. By your logic, an article on slavery couldn't show an illustration of a black man in chains because that would be racist. I'm sorry about your uneasy feeling. Perhaps you should take a laxative. First logo?
Is there some subtlety to the definition of logo of which I'm not aware? The 1966 logo shown can't possibly be the first that Sears used; I distinctly remember "Sears" (possibly "and Roebuck") in white letters on a red circle, dating from the late 1950s and early 60s. And since the company is so old, I doubt that even that was the first version. JustinTime55 (talk)

Who purchased who?
This Sears page states they purchased Kmart in 2005 however the pages for Kmart & Sears Holdings state Kmart purchased Sears but took its name for the parent company. Which is correct? Greenoaks (talk) 11:45, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
