Fair use rationale for Image:Logo ssy.jpg[edit]

Image:Logo ssy.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

What is the actual current name of this group?[edit]

Robert Birkett just moved this page from Young Scottish Socialists to Scottish Socialist Youth (SSY) saying "Organisation name change following deaffiliation from mother party." Looking at the couple of links, the more modern-looking page doe seem to support that but then some of the prose needs to be updated.

Also the unneeded disambiguator, "(SSY)", should be removed but I wanted some feedback to minimize the number of moves. I'll move to Scottish Socialist Youth in a day or two unless more information comes up. Skynxnex (talk) 22:35, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently they tried to swap Young Scottish Socialists and Scottish Socialist Youth, but the latter one held the move. I have reverted these moves without taking any further action, given that they failed to provide reliable sources for name change. NmWTfs85lXusaybq (talk) 23:57, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If they are separate organisations, do we need two articles then? Previous Young Scottish Socialists, current Scottish Socialist Youth. Tacyarg (talk) 20:06, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally yes, but this article was calling it Scottish Socialist Youth and I made it correct to that, this person keeps changing it back to YSS stuff when it is about the SSY. Joshpars (talk) 21:23, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Joshpars, if this [1] is the case you should have set up a totally new page and not edited this original page. You've totally blurred the lines between the original organisation and this new one and made it seem as if the new organisation is a rename of the old one. If it’s a new and sperate organisation to the old one this page should revert to how it was before you made any edits on this page and its old name should be restored. You can and should start a new page for this organisation if it’s a new group. You seem to also be breaking a lot of Wikipedia guidelines like WP:OR and WP:SYNTH in your edits. This page originally was about the Scottish Socialist Youth and stated so in the article, but had the wrong title. I fixed the title first of all. I then noticed it stated the SSY was a renamed version of the YSS, which is untrue. So I fixed that. I then fixed all the other information to make it about the SSY. If this article is not about the SSY then you need to remove ANY and ALL reference to the SSY and change the name to YSS so I can make an SSY page which its own definitive name. Ideally, this page becomes the SSY page as it is fully created and accurate in the history (the YSS stuff is NOT accurate because it mentions the SSY multiple times in untrue manor) so the YSS page should be the new one and this page should be left to be the SSY page.
