David is not Israeli. You state he is an Israeli-Jew. Where do you get this?! Are you trying to emphasize that he’s a Jew?! Really strange and displays ignorance. It’s even a bit antisemitic. Like you’re trying to say: “yep!” David’s a real Jew! “‘

In the movie David is an American working class Jew. Not totally outlandish but unusual.

Change to Trivia

Has been changed to:

The scene shot at Skip's Blue Moon Diner was filmed in Leominster, Massachusetts.

Because I was personally there when they filmed this scene, as I was living in Leominster at the time. Interesting personal antecdote: I figured watching a movie get filmed would be exciting and thrilling, but it turned out to be frightfully dull. The actually filming took 5-10 seconds each take, followed by 5-10 minutes where they'd set everything back up again to re-take the scene... Rinse, repeat for several different shots. I got bored after an hour, and went home.

Anyway, it was definately shot in Leominster. The diner used for shooting is still there, although it looks slightly different than in the film (and its not called Blue Moon). -- Ubergenius 16:22, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Someone changed it back to the correct location. I really was there when the scene was filmed in downtown Gardner in October of 1991. Perhaps the above person was there as well, but is mistaken on the location. Skip's Blue Moon Diner is still located in dwontown Gardner. The Skip's Blue Moon sign near the sidewalk was added for the movie. Previous to October 1991, the diner was simply called Blue Moon. I hung out in Leominster and Fitchburg all the time growing up, the Punk and Hard core shows at Club 490 in Fitchburg, the Dunkin's at the bottom on Priest St. toward downtown in Leominster....but on that night in October 1991 my friends and I were in Gardner outside the Blue Moon Diner which is still located there.

The Use of the Word "Launched"

In the first line of the article, it is stated that this movie "launched" the careers of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, amongst others. "Sports" Drama?

The first line of this entry says "School Ties is a 1992 American sports drama film..." However, though David's football scholarship is an initial driver of the plot, I wouldn't say this is a "sports" film in anyway, since that's ancillary to the main plot.
