Thoughts[edit]

Good to see another list article from you, Paewiki. I offer some thoughts:

  • Just so you know, I've linked the relevant Commons category to this article via Wikidata.
  • I suspect that the vast majority of these aren't notable. As per WP:REDYES, links should only be created when the subject is notable.
  • I'm not sure where you've got the regional classification from. On the Gazetteer, for example, what is shown is the land district and if you follow that link, you will find that those are not the same as New Zealand's regions (there are 12 of the former and 16 of the latter). Given the huge number of scenic reserves that we have, maybe a breakdown by territorial local authority would be more useful anyway. Much of what's on Wikidata is coded for the survey district (which is wrong, because the regions that it uses are from the lot of 16 but the input comes from the 12 survey regions). We'd need a mapping and database wizard if we wanted to get on top of that. Canley comes to mind.
  • The list is incomplete, as it doesn't have 12 regions yet (I assume you know that; this is for the benefit of other editors who see this discussion). For examples, we have two scenic reserves known as Duck Creek, but none of those is listed yet.

Anyway, what do you think? Schwede66 03:35, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kia ora Schwede66. Thanks for linking the Commons category. I was organising by regional council but I agree that breaking down by territory authority is probably more useful to the reader. I might reorganise accordingly when I get back to this article. I will try to address the red-linking while I'm at it. Thanks for the feedback. Paewiki (talk) 06:31, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
