Federal leadership campaign[edit]

Two weeks ago, the media reported Pupatello was going to endorse Michael Ignatieff. Does anyone know why this (apparently) hasn't happened? CJCurrie 05:15, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate and political involvement[edit]

Sandra Pupatello was born on October 6, 1962 in Windsor. All her biographies state that she first became politically active working on an election campaign for former Windsor MP Herb Gray when she was fourteen. The problem is there was no federal election in 1976; Gray was re-elected in July 1974, followed by May 1979. So either the "fourteen" statement is a mistake, or else Pupatello was born in either 1960 or 1965. Does anyone know the real story? Krago 04:05, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm ... that is an odd discrepancy. I'll have to look into this.
Here's the line from the Hamilton Spectator source I was using: By 14, Sandra Pizzolitto was campaigning for federal Liberal cabinet minister Herb Gray, striking up a lifelong bond with her local Liberal riding association. I might have to make the language more ambiguous if I can't clear this up. CJCurrie 05:04, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Where did you find her birthdate? It's not listed in Canadian Who's Who. CJCurrie 05:12, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind; I've found confirmation elsewhere. CJCurrie 05:21, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
@CJCurrie: Any link for the source? Was she married to someone else before her marriage to Jim Bennett? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:11, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Format[edit]

I have changed the old references format into {{reflist}}, as it is the newer template (the old template will most likely be merged into that one soon), and I have again made it two column, as it is much easier for readers to see them this way. Also, per the manual of style, the external links need to come after the footnotes, they are the last portion of an article. Additionally, I would urge the addition (or supplementation) of footnotes that have online articles, so readers can verify the information that's being cited. It is very helpful to people who have no way to access the articles cited, and since this is a living person, biographies of living persons guideline is something to consider. Statements should be easily verifiable, and while I'm not doubting any of these references, I'm quite sure that a political figure will be covered online quite a bit, so it would be very nice if some of those references could get into the article.
