sinking?[edit]

I believe that i have heard that this island is slowly being enveloped by the sea, im trying to find acts to this though.--Norton112200 13:54, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Scientists believe that you're right because of the high winds and heavy waves. No, I don't know when they think this will happen.

Satellite images[edit]

I'm rather amazed by the statement "Satellite images reveal a runway and several buildings are present on the island." I've landed at the airport (flights originate at Naval Air Station Point Mugu), and I've slept and eaten inside some of the buildings. It's not as if it were a secret.--Curtis Clark 22:42, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable?[edit]

I'm doing a project on San Nicolas and Juana Maria for year 8 and i am constantly pondering on the fact that wikipedia is not always a realible site. My teacher does not like the site and need it to be realible!! does anyone know another good site?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.214.214.73 (talk) 09:24, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is of mixed reliability. Try the References and External links at the end. Paul Studier (talk) 00:33, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An intresting question Re San Nicholas Mystery Con trail seen 2010[edit]

Kive Huntington Becah, california Southern california saw as did many Mystery Contrail the US goverment out off as a Airline contrail(?! Mnny in Nov. It seems to me that it was more Rocket missle trail then Con trail! Since it was in the direction of San Nicholsas island where Laser "gun:" for anti missle defense has been done. Wondering if this Mystery Con trail was part of San Nicholas Islan Navel Gunnery range rersearch etc? Thanks! Andre'VICTORISEDSONANDREJOHSONDDULC (talk) 03:37, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't there be a Citation Needed tag?[edit]

Essentially, the entire first paragraph of the History section needs a Citation Needed tag. Definitely the history of the Nicolenos, and particularly the sentence in re: their relocation. OffColfax (talk) 23:47, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
