Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (we are a credible and legitimate soccer club in San Francisco, competing in the 4th division of the American soccer pyramid. Please go to our website, www.sfcityfc.com)

Usually, 4th division teams aren't notable enough for Wikipedia, but as they are playing in the National Cup, this automatically makes them important enough for Wikipedia. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:03, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks for the clarification, Joseph. I did not notice that. Smileguy91Spread the knowledge! 00:11, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. It's a weird, obscure rule, so unless you frequently look at small football teams, you wouldn't know it. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:14, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

WP:FOOTYN says that all teams playing in a national cup are automatically notable enough for Wikipedia. Therefore, as San Francisco City FC are in the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (a national Cup), they are automatically notable enough. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:02, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
