Date of death[edit]

Pearson writes in Life, letters and labour of Francis Galton that Samuel Tertius died on October 23rd, 1844. Is there any source for the date in the article? Herve1729 (talk) 13:13, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ODNB doesn't have an entry for Samuel Tertius, but there is one for his son, Francis. The latter's entry speaks of Francis's father dying " in the autumn of 1844", but doesn't give a more precise date. Find a Grave (not always the most reliable source) also shows "October 23, 1844" <https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=126528447>.
