You need to put this on the vandal's talk page. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 21:57, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, thought I had. Will do now.Cdtew (talk) 22:39, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Wiki user "Toccata quarta" is constantly vandalizing Samuel Sevian's page. In his own admission this user has poor English skills plus his contributions are erroneous and irrelevant, please disallow this user from making any editorial changes to Samuel Sevian's page. I tried to enter more relevant info in the past several days, however his relentless hourly interventions have made it impossible.

Assuming the "more relevant info" was contained in the edits by IP addresses over the past few days, it looks like you were deleting content from article—particularly references and navigation templates. If you want something changed in the article, please state specifically what you want changed and what reliable sources support the change. —C.Fred (talk) 22:48, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
BellaCalifornia (talk · contribs) is just another Wiki brah (talk · contribs) sock. I suggest either blocking it or ignoring it. Toccata quarta (talk) 09:08, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The page says he is from Corning NY: Samuel was born in Corning NY, he doesn't live there. I edited that several times, however the user Toccata kept on un-editing it, apparently he does not understand the difference. Samuel just became an International Master, which also happens to be the All-time American record in the USCF History, this information was included in the one of the last edit's. Was erased as well. The information of Sam's becoming the youngest National Master should remain as is. Whoever surpassed the record should not enter in the first two lines of the introduction of this article on Sam, it could be entered as a note or a subject line after the bio info and the early career. It's not just about the factual content, it is also about the structure of the article and how it is delivered. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BellaCalifornia (talkcontribs) 15:54, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There was nothing to understand, as your previous edits contained no edit summary (see H:ES). Clearly you do not understand much about Wikipedia, as you illegitimately blanked a signature. See WP:SIG. Toccata quarta (talk) 20:27, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New edits have been made to Samuel Sevian's page which reflect his new record of becoming the International Master with well written references to which include the official USCF release.  : however we see the same pattern by user tocata quarta who reverts back the new edits and continues without any explanation to mechanically restore outdated page. It's as if one wants to define a chess player already accomplished and internationally known by his childhood achievements. Following this do mindless logic, this user could go on Kasparov's page and in the first lines of introduction do exactly the same, Garry was the youngest to win Baku's Young Pioneer Tournament in 1971. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BellaCalifornia (talkcontribs) 14:40, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's really simple, you clueless editor: H:ES, WP:REF and MOS:. Read those pages carefully, and then come back. Toccata quarta (talk) 15:45, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Grandmaster or Master?[edit]

Is he Grandmaster officaly or no? I guess he is not yet. Then why we wrote that we is already a Grandmaster? The only official source for those kind of inromation is FIDE site, but not mass medias. M.Karelin (talk) 08:08, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He has met all the requirements to be a Grandmaster and the clock stopped once he won the other day to cross the 2500 live rating. His title was conditional on rating and I've edited the article to call him "Grandmaster-elect" until it is approved by FIDE formally. Technicality perhaps but that will do for now. Jkmaskell (talk) 10:00, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
"Live rating" is irrelevant. He has no published rating over 2500 and is therefore not yet a Grandmaster. MaxBrowne (talk) 10:29, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
To explain the "live rating" bit, "Such a rating need not be published. It can be obtained in the middle of a rating period, or even in the middle of a tournament." 1.53a (FIDE Title Regulations). Jkmaskell (talk) 10:56, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There is a new rating list of FIDE, it is published. So, is Sevian GM already? M.Karelin (talk) 05:51, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
To explain, Sevian has met the requirements to be a GM, he has his norms and reached 2500 during his last tournament (as quoted in the passage above, you can get to 2500 during a tournament even if its for one game, but of course, you have to prove it). However it needs to be approved by FIDE at the next Presidential Board meeting. FIDE's website still lists him as an IM. He's a Grandmaster in all but name, though the "clock" stopped when he crossed 2500. Jkmaskell (talk) 09:36, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure that "clock" stopped when he crossed 2500? Or it will stop when he officialy receive GM title from FIDE? M.Karelin (talk) 12:51, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm certain the clock stopped when he beat Gorovets and went to 4/4, as per the regulations quoted further up the thread. FIDE simply has to rubber stamp it. There are a bunch of refs we can use for it. Jkmaskell (talk) 13:04, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Grandmaster title now confirmed on FIDE profile. Thanks to anon for pointing it out. I will be doing some cleanup though because this is a pretty messy article with an absurdly long lead section. Jkmaskell (talk) 21:40, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
