Category Removal Explanation[edit]

I have removed this article from Category:State cabinet secretaries of Illinois because it fails to meet the inclusion criteria specified in that subcategory's parent category, Category:State cabinet secretaries of the United States. In fact, this article falls specifically within the criteria for non-inclusion in either the parent category or its subcategories. --TommyBoy (talk) 06:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More work needed[edit]

I expanded this article considerably, but don't know when or if I can get to Batavia or the Lincoln Presidential library to answer a pretty basic genealogical question--did he marry twice, or did he and Mary have a common law relationship that they only formalized in 1836? I've only seen referenced to her as his wife, but a search on ancestry.com only produced the 1836 certificate. I noticed that county isn't close to Morgan County, even though by that time the Supreme Court justices may have had de facto circuits. They were only formally established in 1841, and Lockwood's was the first, which I had thought in northern Illinois.Jweaver28 (talk) 16:08, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
