Photo[edit]

I have a good photo of the D500 from the original Samsung press release. I can't find a clear statement as to whether this would be acceptable as a picture on the page conforming to WKP rules. Any ideas? Centrepull (talk) 08:55, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have uploaded the publicity image from Samsung, and it's now on the page. I've reasoned that this is OK under fair use criterion, but we'll see. I couldn't find any clear guidance, so I'll see what the bot says. In the meantime, I can't add a caption to the photo - can anyone help?

Samsung D500 image - help required[edit]

Could anyone please advise me on applying the image template to this image page? As I have uploaded the publicity photo, I am trying to adapt a film poster template for the image page details. I read that this was OK, and I've noticed that many images don't have any template at all on the image page. According to the fair use guidelines, this image is acceptable in the absence of a editor-taken or similar Commons-conforming photograph. Image template from this page: East_is_East_(US_poster) Image page for D500 image that I uploaded here: D500 image I have added the template, and filled it in suitably, but I cannot get the template to show. I need pointers as to what I'm doing wrong, or a link to a suitable help page. I haven't been able to track one down. I will copy this advice request to the discussion page for the image.

Publicity images are non-free, and uploading them violates the non-free use policy. So, the uploaded image was eventualy deleted on 24 August 2009. It's possibe to find fresh user-created images with a permissive (CC-BY) license from Flickr (non-commercial licenses do not apply). Do beware, though, of flickrwashing (aka licence laundering). OTOH, a reasonably suitable image seems to have been found already. -Mardus /talk 01:55, 19 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
