Real reason for no(?) upgrade?[edit]

"Here’s the full Samsung statement on the matter: In order to facilitate an effective upgrade on the Google platform, various hardware performances such as the memory (RAM, ROM, etc.), multi-tasking capabilities, and display must meet certain technical expectations. The Galaxy S3 and S3 mini 3G versions come equipped with 1GB RAM, which does not allow them to effectively support the platform upgrade." [1] Bullshit! KitKat has 512 KB RAM requirements. Could there be other "requirements" stopping it (I doubt it). Custom ROMs are mentioned there. Is it TouchWiz or some bundled apps? Article now says "would be getting an official update to Android 4.2.2 sometime in the near future" after version was changed there but not the ref. Anyone that know they will upgrade to this or have already (not in my country). Add link to article for some custom ROM upgrade that is available? comp.arch (talk) 16:07, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
