To Do List[edit]

At first we have to decide contents, such as history of this word, social background and so on. Also we have to add some references for this article. --Dhtpgus90 (talk) 12:29, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We discussed the below.

  • Contents : The origin of the word, the history of the word, Social background, References, Project banner in the talk page.
  • Time : About 2 months
  • Outline : We will basically translate the contents in the Korean article and link with it. We will add some extra information for non-Koreans to help them understand the article better. --Db9023 (talk) 01:58, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from the instructor[edit]

  1. Is the <talking about the welfare state> the English title of a Korean article? Please provide the Korean title as well.
  2. You will want to add some more blue links (ex. to Kyunghyang Shinmun).
  3. Make sure to carefully review English grammar. For example the sentence "That team made Sampo Generation in 2011" doesn't sound right. Meet with me in my office to discuss the grammar topics in more detail.

Keep up the good work! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:21, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I'm proposing that the article N-po generation be merged into this one. I'm no expert on Korean culture, but it's clear these two articles are on the same subject. The 'N-po generation' one is about extended uses of the term, but all the other 'generations' are listed in this article already. Robofish (talk) 00:00, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, I think the article would benefit from the additional detail from N-po generation, which doesn't seem to warrant its own article at present any more than the other sub-generations of Sampo generation would. WhinyTheYounger (talk) 20:51, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. ko:삼포세대 and ko:N포세대 are separate. We need input from Korean speakers who could look at sources and comment on whether those are separate concepts or not. As far as English sources: 1) [1] both terms are mentioned in this book, but it is unclear whether the author claims that the name has just changed or that they are separate concepts 2) [2] those concepts are discussed here and I think they are not the same 3) [3] this article discusses this as well. Overall, one could ask whether each of those generations is independently notable or not, but as I said, most discussion is likely in Korean. At the very least, it is clear that the terms are not synonyms, one is larger and encompasses the other, so really, the issue is whether the 'smaller' concept has stand-alone notability or not - and I don't think we can talk about this unless we can read Korean. If you really think one of those should go, perhaps AfD would be better? @Robofish and WhinyTheYounger: --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:11, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, given stale merge proposal; uncontested objection and discussion stale for 6 months. Klbrain (talk) 17:29, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
