Supreme Court Decision[edit]

What? Why was this never made effective before the Amendment? And why doesn't it mandate Civil Unions, which the Amendment didn't ban?--Occono (talk) 15:44, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you mean why the Supreme Court decision didn't allow for marriages in 1993? I'm not sure and couldn't find much on the history online (I didn't check books on- or offline), but it seems everything was put on hold for some reason until the amendment passed. And civil unions are only known in the US since 2000 when Vermont created them. Hekerui (talk) 00:00, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recognition of same-sex unions in Hawaii[edit]

What was wrong with the tables? Samesexmarriage101 (talk) 17:51, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure we should reuse the tables in the form given in the release because it could be construed as copyright infringement, when a summary in one's own words suffices. Granted, whether copying a table constitutes copyright infringement can be debated, but we link the source so the table can be looked up directly. Hekerui (talk) 18:22, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a bit confused in what you are trying to say. I mean I don't really understand. Samesexmarriage101 (talk) 02:39, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Gabbard & opposition to same-sex unions in Hawaii[edit]

Hi! I'm having trouble nailing down what Mike Gabbard actually did to oppose same-sex marriage in Hawaii, and the question is also coming up on the Tulsi Gabbard page, which I'm particularly working to improve right now. Did Mike Gabbard help write or campaign for Hawaii Constitutional Amendment 2 (1998)?

I've checked around the web (Civil Beat is unclear on this issue) and started checking the references for LGBT rights in Hawaii. Can anyone give me some pointers and citations? Thanks. Sumana Harihareswara 03:06, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
