Why are some rivers salty?[edit]

I read in the article Helmand River that that river isn't salty contrary to most rivers that don't end in the ocean. Can anyone tell if this phenomenon of river salinity is discussed in any articles? __meco (talk) 09:40, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
