Bad geography[edit]

The following statement is false:

Nine Roman Catholic churches were built on Sashti island by the Portuguese: Nirmal (1557), Nossa Senhora dos Remédios (1557), Sandor (1566), Agashi (1568), Nandakal (1573), Papdy (1574), Pale (1595), Manickpur (1606), and Nossa Senhora das Mercês (1606).

These places are located in the Vasai region, not on the Salsette Island. See this map for their locations: http://www.east-indians.com/bom_map_Details_1.gif

Horizontal growth is also associated with the link roads between the suburban area and the city core area. Salsette island of Mumbai is a typical example of such suburban growth.
