Algerian Saint?[edit]

Since Algeria doesn´t existed as a country during her lifetime, I think she shouldn`t be in this category. Maybe just in a category for North African saints.85.243.69.58 (talk) 18:06, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Father's visit?[edit]

"Some years later, Patricius and Monica joined Augustine in Italy. There, some time later, they had the pleasure of seeing their son, at the age of 33, converted and baptized by Ambrose. Not long after, as Monica was preparing to return to Africa, she died at the age of 56 at the port of Ostia."

Typing error?[edit]

Yes, as it stands, death overtook the grief of Monica and Augustine. It can be mended with least editing by inserting a comma: "Here death overtook Monica, and Augustine's grief ..." I will do it now. Fergus Wilde (talk) 12:40, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Patron Saint to Alcoholics[edit]

I believe that she is also recognized by the Catholic Church as the Patron Saint for Alcoholism. I would like this fact included some where because it may help someone who is struggling with that horrible disease. Bakerbob65 (talk) 19:50, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hideous prospect[edit]

The first sentence after the lead paragraph is comically circular: "Because of her name and place of birth, Monica is assumed to have been born in Tagaste."

Is this what results when serotonin re-uptake inhibition overwhelms the swooning hagiographer?

Monnica vs Monica?[edit]

In Thomas Williams' translation of Confessions, he writes that the uncommon spelling of Monnica with two N's is the spelling widely present within all of the books' manuscripts. Should this alternative spelling be used or acknowledged in this page if it is the one Augustine himself may have used? PalmyranRealness (talk) 14:43, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
