Saved by the bell[edit]

Xsmasher is right, but it's a popular misconception. "Saved by the bell" was not a phrase that originated from this time. Rather it was taken from the boxing scene. I think this should be addressed so as to avoid incorrect additions in the future. - Mgm|^(talk) 05:36, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so if they were not the expressions used what were the expressions used in those times? What was the name of the guy that listened for the bells? What did they say when they were saved and so on? These really do sound like something someone would say back then even know it wasn't written down. This seems like a strange practice today but what do we do now a days? Using embalming Fluid fluid and burn the body to make sure they are dead? I know TWO people that woke up after they were pronounced dead by the doctors and left in the hospital morgue in a bag.
